Shushire is the home to the oldest and larges dream tree, and is the primary cocreator of the Briarborn people. All other dreamtrees are grown from the seldom drop seeds of this tree. As such, it is the most sacred and important city of the Briarborn. it has been heavily fortified to protect the city and its most important inhabitant.

Some of the wealthier individuals of outside races will gain approval to collect deadwood or driftwood for using in their homes, but these homes are often set far back from public roads because most briarborn are still unsettled by them. Stone and morter homes are freely able to be built, but the import of the rock and stone is often more expensive that having a team of druids shape your home in place.
